COLUMBUS- Ohio Democratic Party Communications Director Brian Rothenberg today released a statement regarding Republican political operative Thomas Noe’s indictment.

STATEMENT FROM BRIAN ROTHENBERG

“Tom Noe’s road to the Courthouse began with cozy political friendships that gave him the access in a culture of corruption that was more about pay-to-play than about the best interest of Ohioans or our nation.”

“A year ago George W. Bush, Bob Taft, Jim Petro, Betty Montgomery and Ken Blackwell were proud to call him their friend – accepted his money – and lavished opportunities on him at the highest levels of Ohio and our nation’s government.

“The issue of trust in government is not a partisan issue. Republicans, Independents and Democrats should be outraged. Democratic candidates know that they must provide safeguards to re-engineer trust that government needs to serve the best interests of people – not cronies.”

“History will not be kind to Tom Noe, Bob Taft or many others by the time this is over.”

Brian Rothenberg, Ohio Democratic Party Communications Director
