Franklin County Party endorses Shamansky
Thursday, March 23, 2006
The Franklin County Democratic Party officially endorsed Bob Shamansky, candidate for the 12th Congressional District. Shamansky, along with three other candidates, is running in the Democratic primary in order to gain the party's nomination to challenge Republican incumbent Pat Tiberi.
"While we commend all the candidates who are vying for our party's nomination, Bob Shamansky's wealth of knowledge and treasure-trove of experience make him the best possible candidate for this seat," said William A. Anthony Jr., chair of the county Democratic Party.
"It's not often that a candidate like Bob Shamansky comes along. He's the only Democrat who has represented the 12th Congressional District since 1937. He's a Harvard Law graduate, former U.S. Army Special Agent, successful businessman, and a Columbus icon. He can appeal to moderates, social liberals, and fiscal conservatives."
